Summer time is watering time in the garden

Garden Life
During the dry season, watering is essential in order for your plants and lawn to stay green and good looking. Manual watering of the garden can be time-consuming. Luckily there are smart solutions that take care of the watering, where you don’t have to lift a finger.
Summer is upon us and people are getting ready to relax in their back yards, gardens – or just leave it all behind and go away on a well-deserved holiday. No matter what you intend to do – your garden needs moisture, water and nourishment to stay healthy. Watering your garden with water cans is hard work and a method that might leave you with uneven results. Fortunately, today there are a lot of solutions that can take care of the watering for you.
GARDENA has the optimal watering method for every requirement. One of the best answers for it all is Gardena’s Micro-Drip-System, a system specially developed and designed to cater for your garden’s every watering need. The Micro-Drip-System distributes water according to a set program, controlled from the watering computer, and will not waste one drop that isn’t needed. Drop-wise watering, targeted directly to the root area of the plants, means that the Micro-Drip-System can save up to 70 percent of the water.

With it’s intelligent and easy-to-fit design and multiple applications it can be used to water the lawn (with submerged drip irrigation lines, below the surface), hedges and bushes (with oscillating sprinkler nozzles) and greenhouses and potted plants (with individual drip heads). With the user-friendly “quick & easy” connection technology, pipes and nozzles are fitted together easily and it’s possible for a regular layman to assemble and install the system. A system that, once connected to a GARDENA watering computer, will make sure your garden stays green and flourishing even during the warmest and sunniest days of the summer.

GARDENA also provides other solutions: you can water flowers in a targeted manner by hand with spray guns or spray lances. For your lawn, you can choose a mobile sprinkler or the GARDENA Sprinklersystem.

For the garden owner going away on holiday there are, of course, other tips and tricks to turn to. A homemade waterbed might be enough to keep the potted plants alive. Potted plants or those grown in boxes are much more susceptible to heat and will dry out faster than others. Potted plants indoors can be placed in a bathtub with water. Or you could cut the ends of a plastic bottle, fit the spout into the plant’s topsoil and then fill up the bottle. You can always ask your local garden centre for help.
Enjoy a green, flourishing, well-watered summer!
